Merry Christmas 2013

Once upon a time . . .

In a magical kingdom far away lived a King and Queen and their five lovely children . . .

The eldest child, Prince Mightily Busy, turned sixteen. In preparation for ruling the kingdom, he took upon himself many duties this year, including: getting his driver's license, working a part time job life guarding, participating in debate team, playing varsity soccer and basketball, playing guitar for three worship bands, as well as taking a college Calculus class among his other studies.

The older twin daughter, Princess Competitive Athlete, turned fourteen. Her athletic endeavors this year became more intense. In addition to the usual Dolphins swim team and Pearls synchronized swimming, she also started running (hitting close to three hundred miles between April and November). In July she completed her first triathlon.

*****************************************************************
The younger twin daughter, Princess Graceful Dancer, also turned fourteen. She continued with her dance team at church. All the wee ones in the kingdom love having her for a babysitter. The four cats of the royal household adore her because she spoils them. And her mother, the Queen, relishes having her help with the cooking and baking.

 ****************************************************************
The young son, Prince Loyal Heart, entered fifth grade and turned ten. In his quest for preparing to become a noble knight, he exposed himself to the rough world of tackle football. Ever-loving and gentle-spirited, he decided he likes rooting for football teams rather than playing on them, especially when it comes to cheering on the Patriots with his father the King.

*****************************************************************
The youngest daughter, Princess Joyful Friend, blossomed into a pretty young lady of eight. As part of her princess training she's learning ballet and taking piano lessons. She especially loves all of her friends and the opportunities to have play dates. Even though she's growing up, she's never too old for having fruit snacks and stories with Grandma.

****************************************************************
Her majesty, Queen With the Hectic Schedule, continues her quest as a published author. She had two books release in 2013 and two more slated to hit shelves in the coming year. In addition to her career, she manages to oversee the royal household along with all of the many busy schedules of the princes and princesses. She also teaches a high school grammar/composition class and squeezes in running with Princess Competitive Athlete.

 ****************************************************************
His majesty, Helper and Healer of Hearts, still works to bring peace and comfort to many in the kingdom through his wise counsel. When he's not meeting with his people, he's busy helping transport the children to sporting events, debate tournaments, and other royal activities. He, too, added running long distance into his weekly schedule and bought a treadmill so that he could avoid the frigid Michigan winter by running inside.

The entire Hedlund Household wishes you and your family much peace and joy during this holiday season and throughout the coming year!

Merry Christmas!
